Question about Transworld magazine?

I'm interested in both bmx and skateboarding, and I was gonna subscribe to Transworld skateboarding magazine. I was just wondering if it has anything about bmx in it as well? I don't have the money to subscribe to transworld skateboarding and transworld ride bmx. Anyone have any opinions on them?
If it helps, I skateboard, I don't bmx, but I'm in love with bmx, almost more than skateboarding. Which should I subscribe to?

I'm gonna subscribe to a couple skateboard magazines, but I can't decide which ones to get between these choices: Thrasher, The Skateboard Mag, Skateboarder, Transworld, Concrete Wave Skateboarding.
I was wondering if I could get some opinions/info on them or just recommendations on some?

Keeping up with skateboarding?

So as I start getting interested in skateboarding again, I've come to a problem. How can I keep up to date with the skateboarding world? I like certain teams, and certain skaters, but how can I know what they're doing, or know what's going on in the skateboard world? I imagine being subscribed to Transworld would be a good idea, but I live in France now, and I still could, but I just don't feel it's necessary. I do read the skate magazines whenever I have some free time in stores and whatnot, and visit some magazine websites pretty often, but I still feel a bit disconnected. For example, what is the next big skate video coming out to be excited about? I don't even know! I feel like it's in a bit of a lull or something, but I think that's just because I haven't been keeping up with it. I'm excited about the fact that Almost is filming. What else is new? Where should I go to so that I'll know? Is there a good website?

Also, since I am in France, what about European skating? Cliché is an awesome team, and I'm sure there are others.

I'm tall 5'8".I'm mixed with black, white, and native american I just cut my hair but it's dark brown. I have tan skin...so I have no desire to tan in the summer.Big chocolate almond shaped eyes, pouty lips (not like Angelina Jolie...sorry),high cheekbones,heart-shaped face.RIGHT NOW I'm a 38D bra size, flat, toned stomach and I'm a dancer (as in ballet), so I have a long lean body. My legs are 3 feet long so yeah, I'm an Amazonian:)I'm 125(ugh) pounds.My friends tell me I should model and I think I will when I go off to college for extra money.On a regular basis I get told I look like Tyra Banks(score!) only lighter in skin tone.
I'm in high school, in the 10th grade, I go to one of the best high schools in the country(Magnet). I have a lot of confidence when it comes to my intelligence I have all As and take all AP courses.I'm in the orchestra and play the violin and am 1st chair.
I dress very artsy but that is only because I refuse to dress the same as everyone else.A majority of people say I look like a hippie...blithering idiots!But I guess I can understand that, I wear glasses so I guess I could be called the hot nerd;)I wear long draping skirts and boots, so I guess you can also say I dress bohemian.
I love music...it's my life.I listen to Screamo, classic rock, adult alt and just alt.Just like I said before I'm a nerd so I listen to a lot of classical:Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi,Wolfhart etc.I watch Dew tour, read Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. I run and in middle school I ran track, on the side I play volleyball.I do volunteer work and go on mission trips to small rural towns. Later on for my career I think I would like to do Humanitarian work or either study the Psychology of Art at the University of Notre Dame.
So if you could just tell me what you think, I would very much appreciate it indeed. I am interested in knowing what people think about me by just being told things about me and not actually knowing me...

Help starting out in action photography?

Ok, first off I have the basic Nikon D40 starter kit. I would like to do some action sports photography (bmx, skateboarding ect) as a hobby and maybe some freelancing in the future. Id like to be a photographer for a magazine company such as Transworld or Dig BMX, but I dont even know where to start besides the park or street taking pictures of locals working on my skills and what not. A photographer talked at my schools career day my senior year and he said that photography schools arent really needed so I dont know how I feel about schooling. I need all the tips and hints possible, what kind of lens should I get and along with other accesories. How do I get my photos out there, Im not looking for pay, I just want to fallow a passion and see where it takes me.

Every once in a while I'm looking through my skateboard or snowboard magazines, and i see a picture that really interests me. Its those action pictures where the subject is moving, like a skater or snowboarder, while doing a trick, and the picture taken shows the entire trick. Here is an example:

So how do the photographers do this type of photography, and what is it called? I have a camera with the frame-by-frame setting for action shots, and i love using it when i shoot for baseball. I can't figure out how this picture is made though.
